April 1, 2021 (Alexandria, VA) — OnWrd & UpWrd, a full-service, integrated marketing and communications agency, announced today Colleen Lerro Gallagher is joining the recently launched firm as a Founding Partner. Gallagher joins Founder Meghan Henning in managing the growing firm and handling client service and satisfaction.
“Colleen brings a wealth of experience in advocacy communications, media relations, digital media and video and podcast production,” said Meghan Henning, founder at OnWrd & UpWrd. “Having worked with Colleen at various jobs for nearly 15 years, I know the tenacity and passion she will bring to help set our clients apart from the competition is unmatched.”
Gallagher joins OnWrd & UpWrd from Curley Company, a DC-based brand and advocacy PR firm where she served as a vice president. Prior to that she was the Vice President of Communications & Research for the Global Business Travel Association where she led and implemented award-winning PR campaigns, launched a broadcast studio and provided strategic input for the overall direction of the association. She also worked on the communications teams at the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the Consumer Technology Association. Gallagher has a master’s degree in public communication from American University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the State University of New York College at Brockport. Currently she also serves on the Washington Women in Public Relations Board of Directors.
Henning launched OnWrd & UpWrd in October of 2020 to fill an unmet need. Having worked in communications and public relations for more than 25 years, she hired numerous consultants over the years. They were often brilliant, but the time and resources necessary to turn their ideas into reality were too often beyond her team’s capacity to carry out. OnWrd & UpWrd was launched to bring together the all-too-rare mix of creative strategy and active implementation.
